Let’s talk FASHION! The weather is getting warmer and summer is swiftly approaching. You know what that means? Beach Season is in full effect and it is time to bring out the two-piece swimsuits. Yes I said it, “bring out thetwo-piece swimsuits.” For years plus size women have felt confined to themiracle suit, you know, the “tummy-trimming” swimsuit meant to contour the natural shape of a woman and basically make them feel more appealing to society. Ladies it is time to flaunt the curves you have been blessed with. No more hiding your beauty under those giant cover-ups.
3 years ago you couldn't dare me to wear a 2-piece bathing suit. My self-esteem wouldn't allow me; I was scared of what people would say & the stares I would receive. I realized that in order for me to be happy and who I wanted to be, I needed to be confident within myself (hint that's when "Confidence Is You" was born). The comments and stares of others couldn't break me; I had to be myself regardless. I wanted to be free and be happy. I wanted to go to the beach and walk up and down the sand with my big ass and be happy. That's exactly what I did and will continue doing. Remember people will talk about you regardless so why worry about what they will say.

It is important to be confident in any and everything you wear. Do not limit your style because of what society deems as “beautiful.” YOU are beautiful! Just recently I posted a photo of Gabifresh rocking her two-piece swimsuit, fearlessly and confidently. Gracing the cover of Elle Quebec is plus size model Ashley Graham in a bikini! Confidently curvy these two women are paying no mind to what others have to say about their size and you can too. If you want to wear a bathing suit, head over to Forever 21, H&M, Monif C etc., get yourself a bathing suit, put it on, & rock it being yourself, happy & confident. Like I wrote in the book "Confidence Is You" (which will be republish in Summer 2014, YES "Confidence Is You" has a book if you didn't know), "We limit ourselves as much to wearing what we want to wear that we allow others to outshine us, it shouldn't be that way. We should always shine like the diamond we are, so don't give a bathing suit a stare when all you want to do is wear it. Find one that compliments you & wear it," Be Confident, Be You, Wear your bathing suit proudly, remember Confidence Is YOU!
