I came, I saw, I conquered, 5 days in Jamaica was exactly what I needed and I have to admit one of the best vacations I ever went on. For months I've been planning this trip with MJ, it was always my dream to go there and we made it happen. The main reason we went is for one of MJ good friends wedding but I promise from the time we landed to the time we left, every minute was worth it.
I felled in love with Jamaica within 10 mins of being there, the view there is beyond amazing. The mountains, the palm trees, the blue skies to the clear crystal blue water, everything was beyond beautiful. We landed in Montego Bay and had to drive about an hour and a half to get to our resort (Beaches Resort) in Negrils. At first I didn't like the fact we had to drive so far to get to our destination, after a long flight I just wanted to get checked in and start having fun. But the drive was absolutely worth it because we got to see different parts of Jamaica. From shopping malls, the beauty parlor, the barber shop, fast food restaurants and so much more. It was different from what Iam used to seeing on a everyday basis but seeing those areas made me appreciate everything I have even more.
I Saw Places That Broke My Heart But Seeing People On The Street Smiling and Laughing Made Me Smile Because Despite Of Their Circumstances They Are Living Life. They May Not Have It All But They Are Thankful For It All. Our Tour Guide Michael Said " Some People Don't Have Cars So They Walk Miles and Miles To Get To Where They Are Going But They Are Thankful and Walk With Happiness Because God Woke Them Up This Morning So They Are Thankful For The 2 Feets They Have" We Complain Abt The Smallest Things When Some Don't Have Anything. My Heart Is Full & Already This Trip Was A Life Changing Experience For Me.
5 days wasn't enough but we made every second count, from going to the club, the pool, the beach and enjoying the fact we had unlimited drinks and food. OMG I was in heaven with those rum punch and bob Marley drinks. I knew that I had to go to Jamaica and give them nothing but curves and beauty. I had to show them how we run it in New York and what having confidence is all about. I wanted to be bold, wear colors, be classy but with a few touches of sexy with a whole lot of confidence of course.
I went on a Jamaica shopping spree, I promise you I brought so much clothes, half of the clothes I had in my suitcase I didn't wear lol. But I wanted to be comfortable, fashionable, be able to write about each outfit and of course all of them once again was all under a $100.
As I said before you don't need to spend a lot of money to be fashionable, you can still be fashionable with a budget and all so I wasn't going to go over my budget for this trip. I knew that I would slay with confidence in each of my outfits all under a $100 and Honey I slayeddddd.
First dress I wore was an all white dress for the all white dinner/party. For months I was searching high and low for the perfect white dress and I couldn't find one that I loved until I saw this particular dress. The funny story is I saw this dress on one of my friends, plus size model Jezra M and I texted her asking her where did she find the dress. She told me Fashion to Figure, went online SOLD OUT. The next day went to the store SOLD OUT, I was annoyed at this point but there is a God. Jezra sold me the dress, it's original price was $42 but I paid $20. Talk about saving and having the dress I wanted. I had purchased the perfect heels for it but because of the dinner being on the beach I paired the dress with some gold sandals I purchased at Call it Spring For $30. The gold chain is from forever 21 and I paid $5.50, it was buy one get the other one half price.

When it came down to purchasing bathing suits, I knew I wanted colors and I wanted to let the cellulite be seen as I walk my confident self up and down the beach with no cares in the world. It took years for me to feel and be confident so I will flaunt this cofidence honey.
This look was sexy, very sexy and oh so confident in my crop. I wore this look to the club. It's crazy how 2-3 years ago you wouldn't dare catch me wear a crop top as well as some shorts. But Iam more confident than ever and I will wear what I want to not caring of what others may think.
This dress I felled in love with it the first time I saw it, ever had a piece of clothing call your name? Well this dress was screaming my name. I was waiting awhile for plus size model Nadia Aboukholns to come out with her clothing line for Boohoo official, I knew her pieces was going to be fabulous. So when I saw this yellow sexy dress calling my name, I had to have it.
I never wore a yellow dress before but as I said before I had to step out my comfort zone and besides I loved all the details of this dress. It's sexy, screams confidence and with shipping and handling, I paid under $30 for it. Once again I win, Iam telling you ladies spending hundreds to be fabulous isn't worth it.
When it came down to get a dress for the wedding, I just didn't know what to wear. For 2 months I was looking for a dress, simple but sexy as well. I couldn't find anything that I loved. As I was going through different online boutiques I found this dress, I love it. I wanted MJ and I to match and this dress matched perfectly with what he was going to wear.
When the dress came in the mail, it wasn't the color I thought it would be. Online the pink was much darker, I never wore anything neon pink so I was on the hunt again for another dress to wear to the wedding. I loved the dress but I didn't want to wear it for the wedding. Well guess what I ended up wearing it, I loved it and it fit perfectly on me. I brought the dress from Posh Shoppe which is an online boutique, I paid the dress $34.99 with shipping and handling $40. Another fabulous dress for less than $100.
For months I said I wanted to get a bathing suit custom made with it saying "Confident Curves" on the front, yes honey I wanted to make a statement with my confident curves, let Jamaica know how I do it. I couldn't find the bathing suit anywhere till 3 days before I left but I got it done. My Friend Neville came up with the design and the very first piece from the Confidence Is You collection was made. Not only did I feel confident but I also felt empowered because these were my confident curves. I wore the bathing suit to our Waterfall excursion. What an amazing experience that was to share with MJ. We truly had an incredible time with others sharing that moment. It was honestly after the wedding the best part of the trip. Bathing Suit $20 and to get it customized $15 so once again under $100 to be sexy and confident.
I wanted a statement dress, I wanted a dress to have people break their necks as I walked on by so on our very last night in Jamaica, I knew I needed to bring it to make my final statement in Jamaica. This Dress was it and I felled in love with it the first time I saw it online. Of course I got it right away and it was what I wore for MJ & I special night. I got this dress from Stacked Apparel online boutique. I found them on Instagram and Guess what? Yup another win for under $100, I paid this dress $19.99 with shipping and handling $26.00. I was sexy and confident in it as well as beautiful.
I wanted to feel beautiful as I am, I wanted to feel confident as I am, I wanted to feel sexy as I am and I wasn't going to go over my budget to do so. Ladies as I said before you don't have to spend hundreds to look and feel good. Find what works for you and spend what you can afford. I can afford to spend way more on an outfit but I choose not to. I spend what I feel like spending and I look great and feel great with my clothes being under a $100.
